Baby on the way!

The First Trimester:
When we were married we decided to wait at least a year before getting pregnant. So this summer we started planning out our future family. We were successful and will be having a baby in the spring of 2012! The exact due date is May 27th! The first month was easy but then suddenly one day I got sick and for about three days straight I couldn't keep much down. On the third day I got sick at work and so naturally they figured out my secret. That meant we had to tell our family so they wouldn't be the last ones to know. We told my family on a Sunday afternoon but we almost didn't go over at all because I got sick that morning and didn't go to church. Dad told me he had made chicken noodle soup so we made the trip and I got sick in the car just as we pulled into the driveway. Needless to say they were pretty excited!
The following Sunday, Coulter called his family and let them in on the good news. We were surprised to find out that Lucas and Mindy were also expecting, only there were having twins! Pat and Paula came over in person to visit. They were here for a couple hours or so but Coulter didn't tell them until they were about to walk out the door! Paula said she suspected I was pregnant because she had noticed my chest was getting bigger.
Around two months was my first doctor visit. Coulter was able to come with me and we heard the heartbeat for the first time! The doctor said she thought I might be further along than I thought so she recommended an ultra sound. So a few days later we got to see the baby! It was amazing to see the baby moving inside me and again listen to its healthy heartbeat. Everything was fine and right on schedule.
I have been very nauseous and sick these past couple of months. I am lucky if I can go an entire day without throwing up! However, that means I am also constantly eating to help ease the nausea, which Coulter likes because that means I always have snacks to share. I have also been pretty tired and take naps whenever I get the chance. While the pregnancy has been no picnic we are certainly very excited to bring a new child into the world!
